Best Diving sites in Ireland

Irish diving encompasses a huge range of options from some of the best wreck diving on the planet in Malin Head through to scenic dives with the chance of seals, dolphins, basking sharks and more. We work closely with a number of superb operators and recreational centres across Ireland as well as being our own dive centre being based in Ireland’s gourmet capital, Kinsale. We have some iconic local wrecks, from the U260 a fully intact type VII U boat, to the Lusitania just a few miles offshore.

Whatever your level we can find something cool for you here!

about

Ireland has temperate waters and our weather systems are influenced by the Gulf Stream so we avoid extremes – usually. It is English speaking although there are Gaeltachs, regions where Irish is the first language. History, food and culture is literally legendary, a great chance to combine with a family or partner break. Ceol Agus Craic.

how to get there

Flights into Ireland are easy and plentiful with plenty of budget as well as mainstream airlines. Ferries from Roscoff, Santander, UK and Holland also run regularly.

about the diving

If coming for technical or cave Ireland is not a destination for newly qualified divers. The dives here involve tides, current and low visibility. The ability to manage these conditions is essential and will result in some amazing dives. We have supported expeditions to the Lusitania, our local wrecks include tankers from 1916, WW1 and WW2 U boats, Packet steamers and the Aud, a boat used to bring in guns and ammunition for the 1916 uprising.
For scenic reef diving and for recreational development we work with some awesome partners and will be happy to make personal introductions to smooth the way if you are bringing a mixed group.

when we normally go

March to October is usually best but as we live here, we dive all year. The summer months are usually the best time to visit Ireland but March and September can throw up some super conditions and generally the best visibility of the year. Water temperatures go from 10°C/50°F from January to March and up to 18°C/65°F from July to September. Dry suits are highly recommended.
