DPV or Scooter Training
From recreational scooter to full cave stage DPV we offer both training through TDI and ANDI and rental of the latest seacraft and suex scooters. Current fleet includes a Seacraft Ghost 1500 and Suex XJ37.
Which course ? – depending on the application and past experience, but give us a call to have a chat. A basic 1 day scooter familiarisation through to a 6 day full cave stage course are all on offer.
Learning set-up, trim, streamlining and scooter maintenance as a start, plus optimum positioning before in water work. Then control, manoevering, navigation, gas planning and reserves. followed by managing failures, tows, fixing issues underwater. More advanced courses include planning stage drops, managing extra cylinders, use of a back-up scooter and more.
Please get in touch for specifics.
Why Do the Course?
Apart from the sheer fun of scootering, DPV’s are a very practical tool that allows coverage of more ground in a search area, exploring further and returning safely, as a safety tool for deeper dives and as a way of safely handling high equipment loads. In a cave they allow deeper penetrations and exploration.
The course fee covers instructional time, manual, use of facilities including pool. Students are expected to pay any equipment hire (discounted for DPV) fills, boat costs and accommodation costs required to complete the course but we do have packages available. Only after the successful completion of the course do you pay your certification fee – “you pay for training – you earn the certification”
